How to change Default Search Engine in Google Chrome?

In the past couple of years, a lot of people have concerns regarding the privacy around their online search. In terms of using Google chrome, people sometimes want to change the default search engine to something not google.

I have seen a few friends of mine using DuckDuckGo as their primary search engine.

Google doesn’t enforce its Chrome users to use Google as the default search engine. There is a setting that lets you change the default search engine.

How to change Default Search Engine in Google Chrome?

Open Google Chrome. Its always a best practice to keep it updated to the latest version.

On the Top right corner tap on the three dot icon to see the dropdown list. Choose Settings.

In the settings window that appears, look for the search option at the top.

In the search bar, type “search“.

In the search results, look for the Search Engine section. Under that, Tap on Manage Search Engines.

That will take you to the list of search engines section. By default at the top, you will find Google as the search engine.

Go through the list and tap on the three dot icon.

Select Make Default
